6 Days Ba Be to Ban Gioc and Ha Giang Motorbike Tour

Day 1 Hanoi – Ba Be 220km

8:00AM our team will come and pick you up to our garage station to take the motorbike we chose the day before and head to Thai Nguyen to take in fresh air through the rice field and rural villages of northern Vietnam countryside.

After lunch, we will continue your trip to Ba Be National Park. You can refresh yourself with a short walk in the afternoon around the park or swim in the nearby lake. Stay overnight in a Tay monority homestay in Ba Be.

Day2 Ba Be – Ban Gioc 200km

The motorbike ride to the beautiful Ban Gioc Waterfall will be crossing small mountain passes and through some rustic villages of the local hill tribe.

This picturesque, cascading waterfall is 53 meters high and has an impressive span of 300 meters. The unique landscape includes limestone karst formations soaring from the verdant rice paddies of Tay, H Mong and Dzao ethnic minority groups.

Day 3 Ban Gioc- Bao Lac 200km

Today ride will cover an interesting mix of harsh looking scenery, to stunning valleys, little villages and rice fields before reaching one of the largest towns in the region Bao Lac.

The road is flanked on both sides by harsh looking rock formation, with one or two little valleys open up. However, after a few km the interesting scenery turns into something stunning. The road suddenly follows the side of a hill, and a large valley full of rice terraces opening up. The first glimpse you get is just great, and seeing the road ahead you can’t help but look forward to the next stretch.

Day 4 Bao Lac – Dong Van 120km

The motorbike ride in the morning is winding along the Rock Plateau, after breakfast, enjoy slowly motorbike on some beautiful mountain passes until Meo Vac where we stop for lunch. In the afternoon, we will motorcycle along the river and see the different mountain view. Arrive in Dong Van town at 5 PM.

Day 5 Dong Van-Ha Giang 140km

After a stretch of the road overlooking some valleys with terraces filling the slopes you will ride to a plateau where the road was cutting through, seeing houses left and right. This is actually an area where you can easily slow down to watch rural life in Vietnam – locals working on the fields and water buffaloes enjoying wading through some cold water, with the red roofs showing another contrast to the green rice fields.Some of the views are just like images of postcards you have seen from Vietnam – thinking they do not exist. Well, they do here!

Overnight in Ha Giang

Day 6 Ha Giang – Hanoi 300km

We’ll have an early start today as we head south back to Hanoi. We take back roads to avoid the busy traffic and to get away from the highway. Arrive Hanoi at 6:00 PM.
