DAY 1: HANOI ▸ QUAN BA ( THURSDAY)
7 hours’ traveling / 4 hours of photography
7:00: You will leave Hanoi early in the morning by bus to My Dinh station, Hanoi. Around 14h, the bus arrives in Ha Giang, and our guide will pick you up, take the motorbike and start to go Quan Ba.
You will reach Quan Ba in the late afternoon. Before Quan Ba, we will pass the “Heaven’s Gate”, with its mountains stretching to the horizon, marking the entrance to Dong Van Karst Plateau.
Dinner and a night’s sleep in our Red Dao eco-lodge or homestay of Dao people in Nam Dam village
DAY 3: DONG VAN ▸ SA PHIN ▸ LUNG CU (SATURDAY)(B/L/D)
1.5 hours traveling / 6 hours of photography
We will head towards Sa Phin to explore the surprising Vuong Chinh Duc Palace, king of the H’mongs (and opium trafficking). Built on a small hilltop, this palace has a similar style to Chinese yamens. At its peak, the fortress boasted up to 100 inhabitants.
After lunch, we will go and visit a superb village: Lo Lo Chai, near the Lung Cu flag – the most northern point of Vietnam. Explore the life and colorful culture of Lo Lo people- one of the ethnic minorities in Vietnam.
Dinner and homestay at Dong Van or stay in a homestay of Lo Lo people in Lung Cu.
DAY 4: DONG VAN ▸ MEO VAC (SUN) (B/L/D)
2 hours traveling / 7 hours of photography
We’ll have much to do in the morning, as we’ll visit 2 dominical Local Markets, linked together by one of the most spectacular roads in Vietnam. Better get your gear ready! The ethnic minorities of many different groups leave their home villages very early in the morning to reach Dong Van market, a place where they trade merchandise. This market is also a gathering site to socialize and meet with others.
We will then head to Meo Vac, home to the Black H’ mong Eagle’s Nest. Upon arrival, we’ll discover the livestock market, a one of a kind location in the Ha Giang province. Here, between 400 and 1000 cattle are traded during the course of the morning, along with many horses, pigs, and dogs.
After lunch, we will wander around Meo Vac and the Ma Pi Leng passage taking multiple photography stops, following a road meandering through the mountainsides. At the top of the passage, you overlook a vertiginous canyon and the No Que River gorges further down.
Dinner and a night’s sleep at the homestay of Lo Lo people.
DAY 5: MEO VAC ▸ HA GIANG ( MON)
6 hours traveling /much landscape photography stops
After breakfast, we will head back to Ha Giang town following a different road surrounded by breathtaking karst mountain landscapes. We will take our time and make multiple landscape photography stops. We will arrive in Ha Giang town in the early evening for dinner.
At 20:30, you take the night bus back to Hanoi. You will arrive in Hanoi early on the following morning.
