About this activity

After a pickup from Hanoi and 4 hour drive to Halong Bay, you'll be setting sail for adventure! The itinerary for your 2-day cruise are as follows:

DAY ONE

You will meet your guide in your Hanoi hotel at approximately 7:45-8am and be driven to Halong Bay. You will arrive at 12-12:30pm and be welcomed aboard the cruise with a drink and a check-in to your cabin. In the afternoon, you will arrive at Surprising Cave and explore inside. You will then drop anchor in the calm waters of Titop Island, surrounded by beautiful islets. Here, you can enjoy some swimming/snorkeling or have a short trek to the top of island where you can view the of beautiful bay from.

Early in the evening, enjoy a sunset party where you can mingle with other guests. An authentic Vietnamese menu will be served. After dinner, you can relax with some drinks or join inboard activities.

DAY TWO

For those early risers, join a Tai Chi session on the sundeck at 6:30 am. At 7-8am a local breakfast will be served. From 8-9am, you can mingle with other passengers while enjoying the stunning views from the Bay. You will then head to Luon Cave (Hang Luồn) to either kayak or hop on a bamboo boat rowed by the locals. You will check out of your cabins at 9am and have the opportunity to join a cooking demonstration afterward on how to make spring rolls before an early lunch is served. At 12pm, you will return to the shore and disembark from the cruise, returning to Hanoi.

The cruise liner contains twenty-one spacious cabins, full of luxury equipment with private en-suite bathroom, a large sundeck, elegant dining room, lounge bar, beauty spa, massage, kayaking and exciting entertainments.

The food was great, the other guests were fantastic company and the staff on the boat were brilliant. However, we didn't visit Luon Cave, Titop Island, no beach opportunity or any signs of a beach stop. No opportunity for bamboo boat by locals. We were given kayaking opportunity, swimming in deep water, squid fishing, a visit to pearl factory, early tai chi lesson, followed by cooking class. The visit to Surprising Cave was good, but actually did this on the second day. When we were collected from our hotel, despite being 30 mins early which wasn't a problem , we were the only 2 guests on board who were left stationary outside the tour office for 50 minutes alone whilst waiting for tour guide. Basically we were on the tour bus for 6 hours en route to Halong Bay. Overall experience was poor. I've given it a score of 1, due to food quality, staff on board the boat, company of other guests. I only booked this due to the activities and locations of choice. It didn't deliver my expectations, therefore make sure you get exactly the excursion in writing from the operator. Luckily , I did, and I await their response, due to the fact that the local operator attempted to tell me this was not part of the itinerary. I was actually made to look a fool by the operator when I questioned this in front of other guests. Oh dear, I have the email trail, which may just look like I was correct and the suppliers are incompetent.
