What You'll Do

Join a like-minded Local Host to explore a neighbourhood or two in the city, discovering hidden gems as well as the city’s highlights, all through a local lens of course! You could start the day with your Local Host in the bustling Old Quarter, loved by visitors but by no means inauthentic. Here you’ll see the street traders, the masses of mopeds and the quirky shops selling everything from souvenirs to cakes. You might then also want to visit the pagodas in the Tay Ho area (West Lake), visit one of the many museums or even take a trip round one of the lakes in a swan pedalo!

For lunch you could grab a bowl of pho (traditional noodle soup) or com xang (fried rice) from a family run roadside cafe . Or if you prefer, there are a number of quirky eateries run by the expat community too, from mexican to french and vegan food; your Local Host will choose a place that suits your preferences, budget, and dietary requirements. Your Local Host could also introduce you to a traditional Bia Hoi, where beers are on tap for around 7000 vnd (around 30p) per glass.

Your Local Host will also advise you on the best way to spend the following days of your trip, allowing you to discover other areas of Hanoi that you will love and revealing other hidden gems that they know you’ll love.
