About this activity
Firstly you can visit the ancient capital of Vietnam. Its been consider is the first capital in the 10th century then you will ready to conquer the top of Mua cave to see panoramic view of Ninh Binh,
Then having a great lunch before taking a boat trip. End up with local market visiting and make some rock and roll before heading to Hanoi.
Duration: 20 minutes
Location: Hoa Lu temples of the Dinh & Le Dynasties, Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh 40000 Vietnam
Situated near the southern margin of the Red River Delta, the Trang An Landscape Complex is a spectacular landscape of limestone karst peaks permeated with valleys, many of them partly submerged and surrounded by steep, almost vertical cliffs. Exploration of caves at different altitudes has revealed archaeological traces of human activity over a continuous period of more than 30,000 years. They illustrate the occupation of these mountains by seasonal hunter-gatherers and how they adapted to major climatic and environmental changes, especially the repeated inundation of the landscape by the sea after the last ice age. The story of human occupation continues through the Neolithic and Bronze Ages to the historical era. Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Viet Nam, was strategically established here in the 10th and 11th centuries AD. The property also contains temples, pagodas, paddy-fields and small villages.
Pass By: Trang An Grottoes, H Hai Ba Trung district, Ninh Binh 100000 Vietnam
Down a sleepy road between rice paddies, this cave is not terribly impressive, but there are panoramic views from the peak above. A stone staircase beside the cave entrance zigzags through the karst (beware the goat droppings) and it’s almost 500 steps to a simple altar to Quan Am (the Goddess of Mercy). Look west for the Ngo Dong River winding through Tam Coc.
The climb is paved but steep in sections, so bring water and allow an hour return. Mua Cave is 5km from Ninh Binh and is a popular stop on Tam Coc tours.
Duration: 1 hour
Location: Mua Caves, Ninh Binh 430000 Vietnam
With limestone outcrops amid serene rice paddies, Tam Coc is best appreciated on a languorous rowing-boat ride, with the soundtrack of the river lapping against the oars.
Unfortunately, you'll need to be prepared for a glut of fairly persistent hawkers. The guys photographing you will want to sell you the photos when you return, and overpriced drinks and snacks are sold at the turnaround point for boat trips. Bring your own refreshments, and combine a polite but firm ‘no’ and complete lack of interest to combat the hawkers.
