The guide is excellent. We are taken as a group of three instead of including others to make a large group. The route is well-planned and the views are excellent.
we like nature and walking so we enjoyed. here were only 2 of us and the guide was great
Mikhail is an amazing guide, knowledgeable about the plants, animals and birds in the park as well as its geologic history. I'd recommend doing this tour early in your trip, as it's a good introduction to using Helsinki's public transport system. It's not a beginner's walk there is some rough terrain, and at one point you have to go up a wooden staircase that has over 300 steps to get to higher elevations. When I was there, it was early April and some of the paths were stilled iced over, so Mikhail loaned out spikes that snapped onto our shoes. By May, the ice should be melted. There were several small lakes and lots of fantastic scenery. The park is very busy on the weekends year-round, so if you have time during the week, that's when you'll get the full impact of nature without too many other people intruding. In three hours on a Tuesday, we only saw about 10 other people, and mostly towards the end as we were leaving.
