About this activity
A famously laid-back Scandinavian city, Helsinki is relaxed yet vibrant with a host of exciting attractions that beg to be discovered. Architecture harks back to days of Russian and Swedish rule, and the city’s maritime heritage gives its history an interesting edge. So hop aboard your comfortable, open-top, double-decker bus and discover sightseeing opportunities galore.

Admire top city attractions such as Senate Square – home to Helsinki Cathedral – and Temppeliaukio Church, a place of worship and concert venue that is carved from local bedrock. Pass the functionalist Lasipalatsi building or perhaps hop off at the Market Square, Helsinki’s most international and famous market.

With your ticket, you can remain on the bus for an entire loop (roughly 1.5 hours) as you listen to the informative audio commentary, or you can hop on and off at any of the 18 stops around the city to explore Helsinki’s countless delights. The ticket is valid for the red City Sightseeing buses and green Hop on Hop off buses.

Unfortunately we had rain the entire time we were in Helsinki! Stormma hop on hop off bus was ok. Had long waits at each stop. Noticed that other companies had a more frequent service.

Definitely worth the money. We got the tickets for the hop on/hop off for the first day here, to just relax and get to know the city. The bus route is great, it gets you everywhere, and is probably very close to almost any hotel that someone would be staying at in the downtown area. Definitely helped us get familiar with Helsinki and where we might want to spend more time. The earphones are provided as you get on the bus, and there are volume controls and several languages. My mom has hearing aids and she was able to hear with no problems. It was a beautiful day so they had the top open, we sat out in the sun, a little windy but really pleasant. Four stars instead of five because the map was a little confusing and the buses are different. We took a handout from our hotel with the same logo as the tour, and went to stop 18 to wait for the bus. However the bus stop was labeled 10 even though it said Hop on Hop off, and the bus came pretty fast. But when we got on, the driver said we had the wrong map, he gave us a new one, which then meant we actually got on at stop 10. Luckily the two stops were in the same spot, but for those who have the wrong map it might be somewhat of a cluster to figure it all out. The maps were indistinguishable as far as logo, company title, both were red and said Helsinki Hop On/Hop Off etc. We took the bus to the end, and then got off that bus and onto one that was leaving to start the tour from the beginning. The second bus had a completely different narrative, so the descriptions of the sights were not the same as the first bus we were on. This wasn't a huge deal, but I would definitely recommend riding more than one bus because the second one had a better narrative and offered more information about the stops.
