About this activity
Our boat departs the harbor at 4:45pm just in time to arrive at the manta site for the sunset. Our Manta Naturalist provides a briefing about the Manta Rays then we offer an optional afternoon snorkel. Or you can relax on the boat and watch the sunset before the show begins just after sunset. Everyone gets into position holding on to our light board in the water. The plankton concentrate where lights are shining in the water and the mantas will swoop right next to you as they scoop up the nutrients from the water. The Kona Coast is the PREMIER destination in the world for this manta experience.

Also included in your trip is snorkel gear, wet suits, flotation devices, beverages, snacks, and complimentary photos. Our vessels are around 30 feet long and carry no more than 12 passengers so you can have a more personalized experience.

Good one. Was very bumpy ride and could see manta only for couple of minutes. May be it was the season which made our experience nauseating. Wonderful guides and they took great care.

This tour is not what I expected. The boat is very small ,which is not a problem except that you feel every bump on the water so make sure to take Dramamine. My issue with this tour is that our guide took us out to snorkel first there was 8 of us he swam so far ahead I could not keep up . He was at least 200 yards ahead in the ocean and as I fell behind and was fatigued , I panicked . Our boat was not close and he had no idea I was left struggling , really ? You have 8 passengers in the ocean with no life jackets or even a swim noodle , it would be professional to make sure your group is OK and keeping up. We had to swim at least another 100 yards to the manta ray locations on a surf board that looked jankie ! I mean falling apart and duct taped together. Our guide did try to spot Mantas for us but as this tour progressed 3 of us became seasick and we were told we could not go back to boat . The boat was the farthest anchored out at least 150 yards in the dark with choppy seas. It felt like a nightmare. There should had been a way to get back to boat when clients are puking in the ocean and not made to feel like they are ruining everyone's Manta Magic. Worse experience ever and I come to the Big Island once a year .

There were a bunch of other groups, however, this tour was the one and only small-group 5people. The crews were fantastic!!!They took care of every single person and they did their best job. Two thumbs up!!!!

SPECTACULAR....Highlight of our trip to Hawaii.....Guides were excellent....going out early before the masses was a great benefit as we were able to snorkel on our own for a period before dark....Mantas were AMAZING.....loved it so much we are taking scuba lessons to go back again and see form a different perspective...A MUST SEE EXPERIENCE
