About this activity
Itinerary

Iaido is a martial art of handling the Japanese sword, practiced by samurais. It is an art of controlling your body and sword correctly to sudden attacks of enemies at any time and at any place, while sitting or standing or walking. At the beginning you will watch a sword practice of hanshi (master) and then you practice using a mock sword. Finally, you will hold a real sword and practice swinging it.

Tour Schedule

19:00 Assemble at the Martial Arts Entrance​ ​​of Hiroshima Prefectural Sports Center.

(6-67 Motomachi Naka-ku Hiroshima city)

19:15 Presentation about Iaido and the Japanese sword by an instructor:19:15~19:30

19:30 Watch iaido practice using real swords by school members:19:30~19:45

19:45 Put on an obi belt and practice using mock swords:19:45~20:15

(Learn how to handle the sword, practice swinging, iaido lessons and etc.)

20:15 Hold the Japanese real sword and practice swinging it:20:15~20:25

20:25 Take a commemorative photo and finished.
