Hiroshima, Miyajima and Iwakuni Two Day Self-Guided Tour

2 days
About this activity

Your adventure begins at Hiroshima Station at 8 am. There, you will receive your train pass, hotel reservation details, guidebooks, and maps with written directions. You will also get a chance to ask any last minute questions.

All of our day tours are self-guided. You will have support throughout your trip. If any needs arise, we’ll be a phone call away.

Once we help you board the correct streetcar, you will arrive at your hotel. Feel free to drop your luggage off while you explore the museum and A-dome site.

For lunch, you might choose to go to Hondori street and enjoy okonomiyaki, a Hiroshima favorite.

Afterwards, board the streetcar back to Hiroshima station to go to Miyajima. Enjoy the ferry ride and your first peek at Itsukushima shrine. While on Miyajima enjoy the quaint streets and many shops. Eat some Momiji Manju. We'll tell you our favorite places to buy them! Make your way over to the Miyajima ropeway. You'll be sure to run into some deer along the way(be careful not to feed them!) The ropeway ride and Mount Misen offers some of the best views in the city.

You may choose to go back to Hiroshima for dinner or explore Miyajima Island after dark. Don't worry, we'll inform you of the ferry and train departure times.

Day 2

Iwakuni, Japan is an hour by train from Hiroshima. Riding the local train is a memorable experience. It is home to Kintaikyo, Iwakuni Castle, Kikko Park, the White Snake museum, and many other attractions.

Once you arrive at Iwakuni Station, a short bus ride takes you to Kintai Bridge.

You will hear the flow of the Nishiki River below your feet as you cross the famous Kintai Bridge. Take a leisurely stroll in Kikko Park and enjoy the greenery and koi ponds. A short ropeway ride takes you to Iwakuni castle. There are many dining options in the area. Be sure to try a local delicacy- Iwakuni sushi.

This is the perfect trip if you want time away from the city.

Your tour ends when you arrive back at Hiroshima Station.
