Itinerary
Shinobue is a traditional musical instrument made of bamboo and has been used since ancient times for the festivals, Kagura (sacred music) and Shishimai (lion dance).
As a classical Japanese music, shinobue is used in kabuki and noh theaters as well as in a puppet theater along with shakuhachi, shamisen and hand-drums.
This course is conducted by Ikkan Fukuhara, a shinobue musician with more than 20 years of experience and who is also an ambassador of Miyajima Tourism. The lesson with shinobue live concert would definitely be a priceless experience.
In this course you will learn to handle a shinobue and play a traditional music "SAKURA".

At Daisho-in temple with more than thousand years of history, you can enjoy shinobue music, unique timbre of prayer, joy and nostalgia which has been played over thousand years.
