About this activity
DAY 1: HO CHI MINH CITY – LAI VUNG

7:00 am Tour guide pick up from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh city and head to Lai Vung, Dong Thap (southern Vietnam), which is known as "The Kingdom of Mandarin Oranges”. Take the stopover at the rest stop on the way.

Reaching Lai Vung, be welcomed by a friendly smile and a warm greeting from the host family at the homestay.

The tour is fascinating and for discovering around the fruits gardens. The immensity and charm of the mandarin forest will surprise you while you are walking along the dike and this will be an unforgettable experience of becoming a first time farmer, getting lost in a huge garden with magnificent images of nature, taking lots of pictures to bring home and tasting tropical fruits such as mandarins, coconut, pineapple, etc.

Gain insights into the rural life as well as get closer to local people by lunch with local Vietnamese food. In the afternoon, we will cycle around to explore the village, seeing the sunset on Mekong river bank. Then back to homestay, making local cake for desert and having dinner with BBQ.

Overnight at the homestay.

DAY 2: LAI VUNG– HO CHI MINH CITY

Leave in the early morning for the local market where they start their business with a stool that is very easily moved, which is almost the activity happened outside. Here, buy some materials for cooking at the local market. We will come to visit a rice paper village by bicycle, and then we learn how to make it and taste it. Go back to the homestay and prepare the lunch together; cook traditional cuisines with fresh and clean vegetables planted around. After the lunch, take a rest and return to Ho Chi Minh around 2:00 pm.
