Luxury Cruise on the Saigon River

About this activity
Your journey begins in the morning or evening from your District 1 accommodations, or at the private marina in Lan Anh Village in Thu Thiem, located just 10-minutes from downtown Ho Chi Minh City. Once you arrive at the exclusive dock, you will be greeted by your Captain. He and the staff will provide you with a 5 minute safety briefing as you board the luxury motor yacht. Upon embarkation, staff will offer you a complimentary glass of champagne (mimosa if morning cruise) and a cool refreshing towel. As you take your seats in the cockpit cabin or on the fore-deck, staff will also provide you with bottled mineral water so you stay hydrated throughout the trip.
The trip begins with a cruise into the opulent expatriate community in District 2. Gorgeous villas and mansions, luxury apartment complexes, riverfront cafes, resorts and restaurants are some of the sights you will see on this part of the trip. As you pass under the Saigon Bridge, note the new metro line being constructed above parallel to the bridge. This is the main link between south and north and the road that leads all the way to Hanoi. As the boat changes direction, you will see Thanh Da Island and its nature preserves with local culture still thriving in this unspoiled and undeveloped part of the city. Head back again under the Saigon Bridge and into the downtown District 1, past the Bason Naval yard, the Bach Dang Wharf, Nguyen Hue walking street, and the impressive array of hotels and office buildings, including the Times Square Tower with its multi-colored light show, and the Bitexco Tower, the tallest building in the south with 68 floors and a helipad to comprise its lotus flower shape, which can only be appreciated from the river view perspective.
The journey then continues into District 4, past the Ho Chi Minh Museum and the commercial docks for cruise ships and locally owned large party/dinner boats. The working Saigon Port is the next site, a fully operational port you will see containers being loaded and unloaded from large cargo ships. The cruise then gets more rural after the port as the yacht heads into District 7, where the sounds of the river and calm breeze welcome you the next major landmark, the Phu My Bridge, a beautiful suspension bridge high above the river. Make sure to take a photo on the bow of the yacht for your Instagram or Facebook.
Turn around and start the trip back to port with District 7 views and new construction projects showing the development of Saigon, then back into District 1 for more incredible photo-ops. It is then just a short trip under the Thu Thiem Bridge back to the marina at Lan Anh Village.
