Private Mekong Delta Tour Including Cai Lay rural village

After pickup in Ho Chi Minh City, we will head to Cai Lay, known as a small village and less traveled part of the Mekong delta.

After around 2 hours driving along the expressway, you will see the very beautiful scenery filled with rice fields, vegetable plantations and get to see the life of some of the farmers who work on these farms. The tour itinerary is as follows:

We will visit Cai Lay market, a stunning rural market with full of local products : fishes, flowers, fruits… We can choose some fruits and some fresh foods for our lunch.

And then, we come to one local house , take a break and join to make some cakes, called “ Thuc linh”. Drink some tea with cakes making by yourself.

Take a short walk on local roads through village to get local boat station. Around one hour on the boat, you can enjoy the fresh air, see the rural life of the local people along the river.

After that, you will enjoy a stunning and easy bike ride (10km) through some remote villages dotted with fruit trees stretching along the paddy fields and river (alternatively you can choose to enjoy the ride from the back-seat of a scooter driven by our driver). Stop at some place to drink coconut juice or sugar cane juice, chat with some local people to understand more their life. Try to get the the highest local brige, called “ money brige”. And learn how to take the very huge fishing net on the river.

We will visit local funiture workshop, wood cutting workshop… especially, we will visit small rice factory, still working with a very old machine and engine.

Get back our local house to enjoy our lunch with vietnamese food. After lunch, we will get back HCM city.

Head back to Ho Chi Minh City. On the way, we will stop to visit a beautiful and colorful local Cao Dai Temple, Vietnamese religion and Vinh Trang pagoda, the most beautiful pagoda in southern Vietnam. Arrive at your hotel around 5pm.
