About this activity
Day 1: SAIGON - CAN THO (30 KM CYCLING)

In the morning, pick up from your hotel in SGN by your specialist cycling guide from Grasshopper Adventures and transfer one hour to Mekong Delta. Admire the colorful scenery on the hour-long journey then, upon your arrival, enjoy tea and coffee in a small village café. Next, hop on a bicycle and ride around the stunning countryside, following you guide as you roll through paved rural roads, countless rice paddies and orchards full of locally grown fruit.

In the afternoon, make yourself at home in a private house just outside of the village and enjoy a lunch of locally sourced food and traditional cooking. Then, take a private boat along one of the region’s beautiful waterways, taking in the peaceful scenery and day-to-day life of the locals living by the river.

At the end of your boat trip, leave your Grasshopper guide and continue southward with your Buffalo Tours guide. Head to Can Tho by car and arrive at your homestay two hours later with a warm welcome from Mr Muoi Cuong and his friendly family. After settling in, take part in preparing dinner with your hosts, learning how to make traditional Vietnamese cuisine.

After a delicious meal, take a well-earned rest by spending the night in your cozy homestay.

Day 2: CAN THO - SAIGON

The next morning, rise early to take a boat ride to Can Tho Floating Market. Experience the flurry of vendors trading their wares as boats teeming with fruit, vegetables and household goods ply the waters. Then, head back to the homestay for a breakfast of locally sourced food.

Later, learn about the daily work of Mr Muoi Cuong as he shares the process of growing cocoa trees and making chocolate. If you happen to be around on harvesting day, try your hand at harvesting the cocoa fruits yourself. After this, say goodbye to your kind hosts and head to a straw mat maker's house to learn how to weave a mat. Finally, take a small handmade product with you as a souvenir and head back to Ho Chi Minh City on a four-hour car journey.
