About this activity
The adventure begins at Dunalley Canal information board at 845am. From here Bangor property is a short drive along the Tasman highway, vehicles are parked at the Bangor Wine & Oyster Shed and the group travels on together by four-wheel drive to the ride location.

Situated on the Forestier Peninsula in Tasmania's south east, Bangor has over 35 km of breathtaking coastline, 5,100 hectares of native forests and 2,100 hectares of private nature conservation reserves. The 30-minute journey over the farm introduces the themes and stories of place that connect Bangor to the fascinating Tasmanian story.
Once at the coast riders meet their state of the art German ebikes and are provisioned with tasty treats for the ride ahead. A briefing outlines the plan before riders get to play on their electric machines in the paddock.
Shortly after 10 am we set out to ride coastal trails through Blue gum forest onto Cape Frederick Henderick. Natural terrain along sandy tracks allows riders to build their confidence and skills progressively. Having ratios of one instructor guide per 4 riders allows for high quality and personalised instruction.

As we move up Cape Fred we go over riding techniques to assist in climbing and descending over rocky terrain. At the completion of their climb standing atop the 150-meter sea cliffs riders survey the magnificent panorama of the Tasmanian east coast. Overlooking Maria Island and Great Oyster Bay we share morning refreshments and the stories of first contact between Indigenous Tasmanians and the early European maritime explorers, along with identifying the sites and stories of early sealing and shore based whaling on the coast.
The exhilarating descent down the trails of the Cape leads us back to a reward of freshly shucked Tasmanian oysters and locally produced Bangor sparkling. On return to the Bangor Oyster & Wine Shed at 130 pm riders can choose to further treat themselves with Tasmanian produce relaxing in the paddock overlooking Boomer Bay.
