Pass By: Salamanca Arts Centre, Hobart, Greater Hobart, Tasmania

Salamanca Place, part of historic docks area of Hobart is lined with a long row of simple Georgian sandstone warehouses that were built in the 1830s to store fruit, grain, wool, whale oil and imported goods from around the world.
Hundreds of convicts, housed in hulks moored at New Wharf, were used to quarry out the cliffs behind Salamanca Place, cut the stone and build the row of sandstone warehouses that now line Salamanca Place.
Today, the Arts Centre is the cultural hub of Hobart and the heart of the arts in Tasmania. The buildings themselves house visual and performing arts practitioners, craft and design professionals, film companies, galleries, craft and design shops and retail outlets, arts organisations and public spaces. Rich in history and alive with contemporary arts experiences, exhibitions, music and theater performances, readings, festivals, forums and workshops.

Stop At: Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, Hobart, Greater Hobart, Tasmania

Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary is a great place to experience a little bit of nature. You can get up close & personal with the Kangaroos while feeding them, pat the Wombats, pat the Koala’s & of course the Tasmanian Devil (no devil patting unfortunately!!). Bonorong is a Sanctuary so they don’t operate as a zoo & they only now deal with local wildlife & also run the first Tasmanian Wildlife Hospital in Tasmania. They not only have these animals, but a wide range of other animals which are sure to engross & scratch the wildlife itch.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Richmond Bridge, Richmond, Clarence, Greater Hobart, Tasmania

We then make our way to Richmond Village, a fantastic local sandstone timestamp of early colonial life, especially when we consider that they have the oldest built convict bridge 1823, oldest currently operating Catholic Church 1836 & the oldest convict built Goal 1825 in Australia.
The village itself comes alive on the weekends & is a haven for bric-brac shops, arts & crafts, gourmet delicatessens & of course the famous sweets & treats lolly shop. There are plenty of lunch options (at guests own expense) which your guide will be happy to discuss with you as you enter the village. Your time here is self guided, however the coach will do a full loop around the village so that you are able to get you bearings, with the guide pointing out the various landmarks for reference.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Rosny Point Lookout, Hobart, Greater Hobart, Tasmania

Rosny Hill is in a beautiful section of Hobart called Rosny. On the eastern banks of the River Derwent, the hill sits on its own small peninsula in Kangaroo Bay, surrounded by swirls of streets and bus stops. At the top of the hill, you'll find the lookout with sweeping views of the Derwent River, the Tasman Bridge, Hobart, Ross Bay and the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. As a plus, the entire scene is backdropped by Mount Wellington looming off in the distance.
The viewing platform is safe and features informational displays so you know exactly what you're looking at in the distance. The entire area is well maintained by the city. They even cut the tops off of trees that try to block the view.
