Pass By: Macquarie Wharf - TASPORTS, 18 Hunter St, Hobart TAS 7000, Australia

Departing the cruise ship terminal, you will make your way to the designated area where your tour guide awaits to walk with you to your designated coach.

Stop At: Mount Field National Park, 66 Lake Dobson Rd, National Park TAS 7140, Australia

Mt Field National Park is one of Tasmania's most loved national parks. The park has a wide variety of scenic features and wildlife and offers a great range of facilities for day visitors. Few other national parks in Australia offer such a diversity in vegetation, ranging from tall swamp gum forests and massive tree ferns at the base of the mountain, through rainforest along the Lake Dobson Road, to alpine vegetation at the higher elevations.
The park essentially has two visitor sections. The first, near the park entrance, includes picnic facilities and the famous Russell Falls. Stunning walks through enormous fern forests and some of the tallest trees in the world are available in this area.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Salmon Ponds Heritage Hatchery and Gardens, Plenty, Tasmania, Australia 70 Salmon Ponds Rd Take the A10 and B62 north out of Hobart, New Norfolk, Tasmania 7140 Australia

To the European immigrants in the mid 1800’s, the Australian environment was very different to the land they had left behind.
To make their new surroundings more like ‘home’ they introduced European plants and animals. Salmon was one of the many species chosen for introduction, largely because of the popularity of fishing but also because of the unexpected economic benefits.
After a number of failed attempts to transport them, the first live salmon and a small number of trout eggs arrived at these ponds in May 1864.
If you are lucky while visiting the salmon ponds you may catch a glimpse of our local wild platypus. The Platypus would have to be this planets most unusual creature, looking like a Duck, Beaver and Otter all rolled into one. First thought to be a hoax by scientists with its bill and webbed feet like a duck, tail like a beaver and furry body like an otter. The platypus is a semi-aquatic mammal that lays eggs and is only found in eastern Australia. Don’t get too close as the males have a venomous spur on the back of their hind feet that can cause excruciating pain.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, 593 Briggs Rd, Hobart, Tasmania 7030 Australia

Tasmania means the Tasmanian Devil. Plain & simple which is why we stop at one of the standout Tasmanian wildlife attractions at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. Here you are able to have a guided tour with a wildlife guide as well as getting up close & personal with some of our wildlife including the Kolas & Wombats (patting & holding) as well as being able to feed the Kangaroos & listen to the talking Cockatoo. Unfortunately you can't pat the Tasmanian Devils but you can hear them feeding with their jaw strength being more than 5x that of a pitbull or watch them turn in circles.
Don't pat too long, they may test your reflexes! Afterwards, the Souvenir shop is a great place to purchase some memories of Tasmania and its unique wildlife.
