One of Australia’s most significant historical sites for women, the Female Factory was the female equivalent of Port Arthur and was used to hold both women and children throughout the 1820’s. It was a terrible place with only the most basic of facilities. Some ruins of the original building and walls still exist. The weather wasn’t good for the mountains but still enjoyed the trip. Unexpected sporting of 2 wallabies, always welcomed!

Phil our guide was excellent. Unfortunately the weather didn't allow us to go to the top of Mt Wellington but Phil took us to other sites. The views were just as good. Would highly recommend this tour.

The tour is good if you have a short time in Hobart and I enjoyed the view from Mount Wellington. Take a jacket. Instructions given re meeting point not good. I was told to be there at 9 am but bus only turned up close to 9.20am... was not sure if they had forgotten to pick-up. Many buses leaving from same area so hard to know which is the right one. Bus only left Hobart city at 9.30am so we only had 20 mins at Mount Wellington and then we wasted another 30 mins at some jail dropping off other people.

A good trip, particularly if you don't have much time. Had enough time at the peak to take photos and enjoy the views. We were also taken to see the Women's prison which although interesting unfortunately is just a shell.

I was flying out at night so this tour was perfect. It allowed me to see the spectacular view of Mount Wellington. It was very windy so do bring a jacket. I've taken a lot of great pictures. It departed and finished on time.

Although it was rainy and cloudy for the entire tour it was still worth it! The drive up the mountain was enjoyable. Then on the way down we made stops at the oldest brewery and the old women's prison which were not advertised as part of the tour! All in all it was worth it and on a clear day I imagine it would be spectacular.
