Unique Stunning Hiking Tour Visiting an Authentic Hakka Walled Village

Pick up is at 8.30am, and your guide will be waiting in reception of your hotel lobby.

From here you will travel by Hong Kong's rail system the MTR to the north New Territories. A taxi ride will be needed from here to the trail head. Brides Pool will be your starting point, steeped in folklore, a tragic tale. Folk legend has it that a bride was passing by on her sedan chair in stormy weather when one of her porters slipped!! You will learn the rest of the tale on your tour. 

Hiking on past small old ghost villages where nature has taken its revenge and reclaimed once what was before. You will follow the path through bamboo and forest sections and head out along a coastal path to reveal red rock beaches part of Hong Kong's geological heritage. Heading inland next to the 'Hakka Walled Village Lai Chi Wo' a village with strong Feng Shui beliefs. You will get to explore this village and learn about the famous trees and the surrounding forest that is grown to retain wealth and protect against bad luck. This is also the point to enjoy your packed lunch.

Heading out of Lai Chi Wo climbing steadily through a forested area navigating north until a clearing in the trees reveals the sea and Mirs bay, on the other side lies the Chinese border and the large container port city of Yantian and you will be close enough to see the ex soviet aircraft carrier, Minsk, which is now a museum.

You are nearing the end of the tour now, you will hike out to a remote local restaurant selling noodles and seafood, cold drinks and cold beer which you will deserve after such a big day out. You will rest here until ready to catch a small local mini bus back into civilization where your guide will escort you on the MTR returning you to your hotel.
