Open only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays before the sun sets against the horizon this is the place where you have the opportunity to explore probably the most popular weekend market among Bangkokians and admire the century-old wood houses, now turning in quirky and quaint local shops, selling whatever is typical Thai. Add the water element to it, where long tail boat whisk through the canals and turn into floating stalls for food and knick-knacks and you have the décor for an amazing night out.

A 2-hour drive from Hua Hin / Cha-am in northern direction will bring you first to the famous Maeklong Market. Locally known as the Railway Market, fruit, vegetable, and seafood vendors have laid out their fresh merchandise on top of the railroad tracks. Watch vendors dismantling their stalls while this passenger train passes through and immediately reoccupying the rails after is one wonderful scene of trade ingenuity as soon as it comes to a complete stop at this tightly-packed market. Cameras at the ready as the slowly-approaching train carefully come to a halt after avoiding all the street stalls and merchandise.

Continue the journey to Samut Songkhram, a province that thrives off the seafood business due to its proximity to the Gulf of Thailand, where it will be served an early seafood dinner at a local restaurant.
