About this activity
When your cruise arrives at Hualien Port, you will be picked up at 8:00 am and transferred to the famous Taroko National Park, one of the most popular national parks in Taiwan.

Taroko means "magnificent and beautiful" in Truku language, an indigenous tribal language in Taiwan. Taroko Gorge is one of the largest naturally enclosed spaces in the world, spanning 2,300 feet long, 1,300 feet wide, and at least 230 feet high. Taroko Gorge and its surrounding area are well known for their abundant supply of marble. There are at least twenty scenic spots in the National park, and the first stop will be at the Shakadang Trail. It is originally known as "Mysterious Valley Trail" and was renamed to "Shakadang Trail" in 2001. This trail is built along the river cliff, and you can easily observe both the rock folds and plant ecosystem in the river valley. After the first curve, there is a deep pool with clear water that has enchanted many visitors.

For lunch, enjoy the unique cuisine in the style of Taiwanese aboriginal at the famous restaurant named Bruwan. Afterward, you will head to the Lushui Trail. It was part of the Old Cross-Hehuan Mountain Road with decent road condition, beautiful landscape and significant ecological value. It is a popular sightseeing path suitable for all ages. Dense forest, cliff terrain, plants growing on the rock and historical monuments are the characteristics of the Lushui Trail. Among all plants, the Taroko oak is a rare species in Taiwan. Standing on the cliff, enjoy the mesmerizing view of overlooking the Liwu River Valley and the Lushui Terrace.

Finally, driving from the west exit of the Changchun Tunnel of the Central Cross-Island Highway, then turn south and go along the old Central Cross-Island Highway to the area next to Liwu River. See the Eternal Spring Shrine, pronounced as Changchun in Mandarine, which commemorates the 226 personnel, mostly military veterans, who scarified themselves during the construction of the Central Cross-Island Highway (1956~1960). Spring water adjacent by the Eternal Spring Shrine flows year round and the Highway Bureau named it after "Changchun Falls". It is now a scenic spot with special significance on the Central Cross-Island Highway. At the end of the tour, please feel relaxed and laid back while being transferred back to the port for your onward journey.
