Day 2: Tunxi – Mount Huangshan

Stop At: Mt. Huangshan, Huangshan Scenic Area, Huangshan District Anhui Province, Huangshan 245000 China
Embark on a scenic drive to the foot of Mount Huangshan, known as the sacred Yellow Mountain. Famed for its outstanding natural scenery, the UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts weird rock formations and pine trees rising out of a sea of clouds and hot springs; a scene so breathtakingly beautiful, it has served as inspiration for many poets and artists throughout history.

Hop aboard the Yungu cable car and ride up into the mountains, taking in the magnificent scenery. Finish the last stretch by foot and reach the hotel at the summit. After lunch, hike to the Xihai Scenic Area (don’t forget the camera!) and visit the Paiyun Pavilion, or ‘Cloud Dispelling Pavilion’. The thick clouds usually disperse in front of the pavilion, hence its name, unveiling a fantastic view of the captivating scenery. Next, witness the unique sight of Feilai Stone, a massive boulder balancing at a precarious angle over the edge of a cliff, before heading to Brightness Summit, the second highest peak of the mountain range. Afterwards, continue to the Xihai Grand Canyon, one of the most beautiful and untouched areas of Mount Huangshan.

End the day with a last hike back to the hotel. Enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night on top of Mount Huangshan, dreaming of the amazing sights and scenery.
