Stop At: Huascaran National Park Peru
Llaca Lake is in the northeast of Huaraz city. We go there by car and it takes us about 01 hour. At Llaca Lake, we can find typical wildflowers of Cordillera Blanca such as Chawe Chawe (Cebolla Silvestre-werneria nubigena), Campanita (liliaceae), Chocho Silvestre (lupinus) and others. This glacier lake is below Ranrapalca (6,162 m) and Oshapalca Mountains (5,881 m). During our hike, we can see Vizcachas; an animal similar to the rabbit, but the Vizcacha has a squirrel tale as the Chinchilla. There are quenual trees; this plant was used by prehispanic people to get dyeing colors such as pink, beige and green. Once we get to the lake, we can enjoy everything about this glacier lake and its spectacular scenery.
