The PADI open water diver course is specially designed by PADI to give a varied interactive learning experience. The course combines easy SCUBA theory modules with practical underwater sessions, which you then put into practice with open water dives.

Giftun Island is a purpose built training facility with highly experienced PADI Instructors. By choosing our facility to become a PADI open water diver, you will have the chance to immerse yourself into the Red Sea right from the beginning. All of our confined water training sessions take place in the shallow and protected Makadi Spots – just footsteps away from the school. So jump in and enjoy the adventure.
PADI Open Water Diver What does this qualification mean to me?
You will be qualified to a depth of 18m and able to dive with a buddy independently.

3 – 4 days
Requirements
Minimum age 10 and ability to float for 10 mins and swim 200 m unaided and without stopping.
Visibility – Usually clear, visibility can range from 15-170 metres/50-230 feet
Water Temperature – Depending on the season, water temperature ranges from 21-30°C/70-86°F.
Weather – Egypt’s climate is hot and dry, however, in the winter the north is quite cool. The air temperature ranges from 21-40°C/70-104°F. Diving is always good, year round.
Featured Creatures – The Red Sea offers an amazing diversity of fish on nearly every dive. Thousands of anthills sweeping across a coral wall will compete with coral groupers, wrasse, blue spotted rays, butterfly fish and angelfish for your attention. But, don’t get too caught up in the action – you might just miss that majestic whale shark gently cruising by.

- Diving within 48 hours of flying is not recommended. All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor
