Pass By: El Sahel Travel Day Tours, 16 Eleatemad out of Elmadena St,, Luxor 12411 Egypt

This full-day luxury trip to Cairo from Hurghada will save you time and effort. During the day you will visit the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, the vibrant Khan el-Khalili Bazaar and the magnificent artifacts of the Egyptian Museum, all in the company of an expert Egyptologist guide.

We will pick you up from your Hurghada hotel for the transfer to the domestic Airport where you will board a flight to Cairo. Arrive in the capital and meet your tour guide before visiting the Great Pyramids of Giza. The oldest of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World, the Pyramids of Giza are also the only ones to remain almost intact. Constructed over a 20-year period, concluding around 2,560 BC, at the time they were the tallest man-made structure, remaining so for more than 3,800 years. To this day nobody knows for sure exactly how they were built, although there are many theories.

Your Egyptologist guide will be on hand to answer all your questions and to provide you with a fascinating narrative as you explore. Next you will visit the mysterious Great Sphinx, a mythological creature formed of a lion’s body and a human head, it stands over 240 feet (73 meters) long and 65 feet (20 meters) high. The Great Sphinx is the oldest known monumental sculpture, and is thought to have been built by ancient Egyptians of the Old Kingdom in the reign of the pharaoh Khafra.

You will stop for lunch before moving on to the world-famous Museum of Egyptian Antiquities. Built in a neo-classical style designed by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon, its collections now exceed 12,0000 masterpieces, ranging from the pre-dynastic era, the Pharaonic era and the Greco-Roman period.

A highlight of its treasures is undoubtedly the artifacts of the child King Tutankhamen, but look too at the relics of other Pharaonic Gods and Goddess and visit the mummies room to learn about mummification art in ancient Egypt.

Afterwards enjoy an afternoon of shopping at maze of alleys and streets at Khan El Khalili Bazaar. Try your skills and bargaining as you shop for gifts and souvenirs.

At the end of the day, you will be transferred to Cairo domestic airport for the return flight, with a transfer in Hurghada back to your hotel.
