Hyderabad Day Tour: British Residency, Paigah Tombs and BadShahi Ashukhana

You will be picked up at your hotel in Hyderabad either in the morning or in the afternoon and then start your tour with a visit to the British Residency.

The magnificent British Residency was the result of the matured romance with Princess Khairunnisa, who was a refuge in his house from an enforced marriage. Then go to the Paigah Tombs that are the magnificent example of lessor known Indo Saracenic architecture and delightfully decorated with flowers, famous jali work and have marble inlay work on them with lime and mortar. The noble families of Paigah were the most influential and powerful families of the Princely State during the 18th century. Learn the history of the tombs while appreciating their beautiful architecture.

Later stop by the Badshahi Ashurkhana as a mourning place for Shias during the festival of Moharram and now a heritage site. Constructed in memory of martyrdom of Imam Hussain, Badshahi Ashurkhana was built in 1594 by Mohammed Quli Qutub Shah, the founder of Hyderabad City. It is remarkable for its height and abundance of Chinese tiles used. Adorned with enamel-tiled mosaics, the building houses some ancient banners and relics. When the tour concludes, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Hyderabad.
