Day 1: Iasi - Voronet Monastery - Moldovita Monastery - Sucevita Monastery - Suceava

Your tour guide will pick you up from the hotel and your 4-day journey will begin. You will spend the first day of your tour in Bukovina, a remarkable region filled with traditional houses and locals that seem to be living in another era.

Stop At: Manastirea Voronet, Strada Voronet 166, Voronet 725301 Romania
Bukovina is the land of the Painted Monasteries, and your first destination is Voronet, commonly called the "Sistine Chapel of the East". The frescoes of the monastery are dominated by intense shades of blue, and the southern wall depicts the best-preserved "Last Judgement" fresco in Romania. The monastery was built in 1488 by Stephen the Great in order to commemorate one of his victories against the Ottoman Empire.

Stop At: Moldovita Monastery, Vatra Moldovitei 727595 Romania
Next up you will visit Moldovita, one of the last two monasteries in Bukovina that were built with an open porch, a hidden room built above the burial vault, and with Gothic-style windows and walls. The frescoes of the monastery were painted in 1537, with predominantly yellow and blue paintings. Some of the most important mural paintings are the "Tree of Jesse" and the "Siege of Constantinople".

The last monastery of the day is Sucevita, built-in 1585 in a Gothic and Byzantine style. Both the interior and exterior walls are covered in frescoes that depict biblical episodes from the Old and New Testament. Sucevita is one of the last monasteries to be decorated in the famous Moldavian style, and it has the appearance of a real fortress. Surrounded by walls that are 6 meters tall and 3 meters thick and guarded by a tower in each corner, Sucevita is a true masterpiece of Romania's patrimony. The dominant colors of the frescoes are purple, red and blue, and they appear against an emerald green background, depicting an astonishing chromatic effect.

Stop At: Suceava Fortress, Suceava Romania
After discovering the history of Bukovina's painted monasteries, you will head to Suceava. For nearly 200 years, the city was the capital of Moldavia and the main residence for the Princes of Moldavia. Once here, you will take a city tour and discover some of its most important landmarks, such as The Princely Court and the Mirăuti Chruch.

Day 2: Suceava - Soroca Citadel - Chisinau

On the second day of your tour, you will cross the border to Moldova, a country famous for its wines and one of the largest wine producers in the world. Formerly part of the Kingdom of Romania, Moldova is now our beloved neighboring country.

Stop At: Soroca Fortress, Cetatea Soroca Independentei 68 On bank of Nistru River, Soroca 3000 Moldova
The main attraction of the day is the Soroca Citadel. Located in the northern part of the country, the citadel was formerly part of Moldavia's defense system. The construction has a perfectly circular shape, with high and thick walls, and it is guarded by 5 towers placed at equal distances between one another. The Soroca Citadel was built at the end of the 15th century by Stephen the Great, and it is the only medieval monument in Moldova which was preserved just as it was designed by its craftsmen.

Stop At: Chisinau City Hall, Stephan cel Mare Blvd., 83, Chisinau 2012 Moldova
You will then visit the capital city of Moldova, Kishinev. This is the commercial, cultural, and social center of the country, and it is known as the "City on the Seven Hills". Your city tour will include the Triumphal arch (also known as the Holy Gate) and the Stephen the Great Park. Last but not least, you will visit the flea market, where you will be able to purchase souvenirs such as traditional clothing or items dating back to World War II.

Day 3: Chisinau - Old Orhei Complex - Cricova Winery - Chisinau

Stop At: Old Orhei, Orhei Moldova
You will then take a trip to a historical and archeological complex, Old Orhei. This unique site is located in the open air, and the enormous archeological excavations revealed cultural layers of various epochs such as the Paleolithic, Eneolithic, and Iron Age. You will also visit the Orhei Fort, a Moldovan citadel placed alongside the Răut River. The construction was mentioned for the first time in 1470, and it was built on the ruins Sehr al-Djedid, a city that belonged to the Golden Horde.

Stop At: Cricova Winery, Petru Ungureanu St., 1, Cricova 2084 Moldova
Next, we will taste some of Moldavia's wine at the Cricova Winery, situated at a depth of 50-80 meters, representing a real underground city. The Moldavian cellars where Vladimir Putin keeps his wine are so big you that need to drive through them. Here you will discover the art of wine tasting, and you will sample a selection of local wines.

Day 4: Chisinau - Milestii Mici Winery - Capriana Monastery - Iasi

Stop At: Milestii Mici, r-l Ialoveni, Chisinau 6819 Moldova
In the morning we will check out from the hotel, and we will leave for Milestii Mici, the largest underground wine cellar in the world. Its limestone tunnels spread over an area of more than 200 kilometers, 55 of which are used for wine storage. The tasting halls are luxuriously decorated, being emphasized with water, stone, and wood, and the walls are carved from natural seashell rock.

Stop At: Capriana Monastery, Capriana Moldova
The last destination is one of the oldest and most beautiful monuments in Moldova, Căpriana Monastery. For a long time, the monastery was the residence of the Moldovan Metropolitan Church and it was patronized by many rulers of Moldova, including Stephen the Great.
