About this activity
Day 1. Imphal - Sendra
Arrive at Imphal airport. We will meet you at the airport and then drive to Sendra. A scenic 45 mins ride with stopover at India Peace Memorial at Maibam Lotpa Ching, Loukoipat Lake at Bishenpur, and the INA memorial complex at Moirang. Checking at Sendra tourist resort. Boat ride on Loktak Lake. Drive to Keibul Lamjao. Overnight at Sendra.
Day 2. Sendra - Imphal
Breakfast. An early morning boat ride through the mists on the Loktak Lake. We then head back for Imphal. Explore Imphal city; War Cemetery, Kangla Fort, BT Park, St Joseph’s Cathedral, Govindajee Temple, and Ema Keithel. Shopping at Moreh market. Overnight at Imphal.
Day 3. Imphal Airport
Breakfast. Drop to airport. Stop over at a few destinations en-route depending on flight timing and schedule.
Major Sightseeing Destinations:
• Loktak Lake: also referred to as the floating paradise, is a beautiful fresh water lake in Manipur
• Sendra: a small hillock a la island on Loktak Lake
• India Peace Memorial: a structure laid in memory of Japanese troops died during the Battle of Red Hill in World War II
• Keibul Lamjao: a national park that is the home of the brow antlered Sangai deer set in the swampy backdrop of Loktak Lake
• INA Memorial: a memorial complex cum museum where the INA hoisted the first flag of Indian Independence
• War Cemetery: set up by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission to commemorate the soldiers who died during World War II
• Kangla Fort: ancient seat of Meetei kings, the fort is an important historical site for Manipur
• BT Park: enacted in memory of the patriot, Bir Tikendrajit, who fought against the British
