About this activity
Begin with pickup at your hotel in Interlaken, then travel 15 minutes out of town to a scenic hang glider launch site. You’ll continue on foot, walking an additional five minutes to the take-off zone, where you’ll have sweeping views of the surrounding mountains.
Build up the hang gliders and learn the basics of hang gliding technique from a professional instructor, from soaring to stalls, spins, and wing-overs. Pair up with the instructor in the hang glider, and watch the ground drop away beneath after you launch into the air. As you fly, cameras will capture photos of your adventure, and the takeoff, tricks, and landing will all be filmed; photos and video are available for purchase after the flight.
Throughout the flight, you’ll have panoramic views of the Jungfrau region, and the pilot will keep your flight going as long as possible by searching for updrafts. At the end of the flight, touch back down in the town center. This tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel in Interlaken, but first you’ll get a voucher for a free beer or drink, and a “Certificate of Insanity” sticker to remember your adventure in Switzerland.
