About this activity
Make your own way to Clansman Harbour to begin your tour. Located approximately nine miles southwest from Inverness city center, the harbor is just a short drive from the city and is set on the north shore of what is perhaps the most mysterious stretch of water in the world.

Arrive at the harbor, located at the foot of rambling, green hills, and marvel at the picturesque natural beauty of the quaint dock area. Spend a few moments capturing the incredible scenery with your camera, before heading for your cruise boat.

Board your comfortable boat and take a seat inside or on the open-air deck. Absorb the stunning natural vistas as you slip away from the harbor and begin your 1-hour cruise of the legendary Loch Ness. Regarded as the largest body of fresh water in Britain, Loch Ness is one of the most famous lakes in the world, owing to it being the home of Nessie, the fabled Loch Ness Monster. With your boat’s sonar system, there’s every chance of spotting her if she is lurking below.

Perhaps relax with a drink and a snack from the onboard bar (own expense) as you glide, taking in breathtaking views of the loch and the surrounding hills, as well as the romantic ruins of Urquhart Castle. Situated on the loch’s banks, close to the water’s edge, the ruins are the remains of a medieval fortress. In its 500 years as a stronghold, Urquhart Castle was invaded by Edward I, paramount during the Scots’ struggle for independence and subject to frequent raids from MacDonald Lord of the Isles.

Your 1-hour cruise concludes back at Clansman Harbour.

We had a amazing time sailing down the Loch Ness looking for Nessie. Would recommend this for anybody who wants to see the views of Loch Ness on the water. Was also able to see Urghart Castle too.
