About this activity
DAY 1
- 7:30 am Departure from Iquitos to Nauta city (2 hr).
- Motorboat from Nauta to Santo Domingo (3 hr).
- Entrance permit for the National Reserve.
- Arrival to a village inside the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve.
- Boat excursion to a lagoon.
- Exploration hiking.
- Bird watching.
- Accommodation: Overnight in a typical village house.

DAY 2-4
- Motorboat.

During these days the following activities will be done:
- Navigating for 5 hours per each day.
- Set up of different camps.
- Looking for pink dolphins ( Inia geoffrensis).
- Excursion by canoe for wildlife observation.
- Piranha fishing ( Serrasalmus nattereri).
- Excursion in search of Giant river otters ( Pteronura brasiliensis).
- Night exploration looking for, tarantulas and other insects.
- Overnight in the jungle in different camps.

DAY 5-7
- Motorboat. (5 hr).
- Arrival to El Dorado.
- Set up camp.

During this time we will do the following activities:
- Hike through primary jungle in search of wildlife.
- Identification of medicinal plants.
- Drinking water from forest vines “Soga de agua”.
- Excursion in search of primates.
- Night exploration looking for alligators and other species.
- Walking exploration in search of nocturnal animals.
- Overnight in the jungle.

DIA 8-10
- Return by motorboat.
- Day 8 and 9 at night Overnight in the jungle.
- Day 10, arrival to the village.
- Purchase of handicrafts (optional).
- Return by motorboat to Nauta (3 hr).
- Car from Nauta to Iquitos (2 hr).
- 6:00 pm Arrival to Iquitos city.

  • This program is for adventurers, we spend the night in a villager's traditional house and camp. We do not offer eco-lodges.
  • For camping, in order to sleep we use with Rectangular Mosquito Nets, sheets and sponge sleeping pad.

  • OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
  • It is suggested to arrive in Iquitos a day before to avoid issues caused by flight delays. Flight out must be taken after 9:30pm or, much better, a day after the program.
  • Due to uneven surfaces, this tour is not recommended for those with walking disabilities or using a wheelchair
  • Important: We reserves the right to change the activities listed in the itinerary, in case they cannot be performed due to weather conditions or water levels of rivers in different seasons
  • A current valid passport is required on the day of travel
  • Not recommended for participants with back problems
  • Comfortable walking shoes are recommended
