4-Day Adventure on the Amazon Star Cruise from Iquitos
DAY 1 | Wednesday – Boarding the Amazon Star (L,D)
Arrive at the city of Iquitos and transfer to the port of Nauta, making a stop at the Amazon Rescue Center (CREA), a foundation dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of manatees. Once in Nauta, participate in an orientation and security talk and tackle the Amazon Star. During the afternoon, explore the Pawachiro stream by boat and enjoy the flora variety of the place. Upon return, the crew will present a musical activity. While eating dinner, the activities for the following day will be presented.
DAY 2 | Thursday – Amazon River (B,L,D)
During the morning, enjoy a complete experience taking breakfast in a picnic on the boat by the Pucate River. The excursion begins with a boat exploration, observing the monkeys, birds, and the immense variety of fauna that inhabits the area. Then, you can enter the river to swim with pink dolphins, a unique species that live in the Amazon. As an optional activity, you'll be able to fish piranhas.
Return to the boat for lunch and listen to the guide's conference about the source of the Amazon River, where you will find out the root of the most significant river in the world. During the afternoon, explore the Nauta Caño, with the option of travelling the stream in a kayak. Then, you will have dinner and participate in the informative talk preparing you for the next day. When the sun falls, you will leave on a night excursion.
DAY 3 | Friday – Puerto Prado Village / Farewell Dinner (B,L,D)
Breakfast on board. During the morning, go on a walking tour to have direct contact with nature. See the Victoria Regias, a unique plant from the Amazon and visit the local shaman of Puerto Prado, who will perform a ritual to charge you with good energy. Return to the boat for lunch outdoors and have a cooking class to learn more about the local gastronomy: its ingredients and preparation of its dishes. As an optional activity, you can have an origami class with towels.
The last boat ride will depart during the afternoon to enjoy the colourful sunset while toasting with champagne. Back in the cruise, the crew will be presented; they'll perform a musical presentation and then you will have a farewell dinner where the itinerary for the next day will be explained.
DAY 4 | Saturday – Disembarkation of the Amazon Star (B)
Wake up at 5:00 in the morning. Have breakfast at 5:15 and disembark in Iquitos by 6:00 am.
