8-Day Adventure on the Amazon Star Cruise from Iquitos
DAY 1 | Saturday – City Tour and boarding (L,D)
Arrive at the city of Iquitos. Once there, begin the tour to the Amazon Rescue Center (CREA), a foundation dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of manatees; the Museum of Amazonian Indigenous Cultures and Casa Morey. After the tour, transfer to the port from where the Amazon Star will set sail.
DAY 2 | Sunday – Amazon River (B,L,D)
After breakfast, go on a boat exploration along the Amazon River to see the local vegetation and wildlife. After lunch, depart on a boat exploration to the Yarapa River, a nature reserve protected. Finally, have dinner.
DAY 3 | Monday – Yanallpa Stream/ El Dorado River (B,L,D)
Start the day at 6:00 a.m. with an optional bird watching activity from the deck. Then visit Yanallpa, a beautiful stream near the Ucayali River.After breakfast, visit a school and a local town. Back at the boat, have lunch on the deck. Later, a naturalist will offer a talk of the Pacaya Samiria Reserve. Enjoy a night walk in El Dorado stream.
DAY 4 | Tuesday –El Dorado River/Supay Stream (B,L,D)
Wake up at 6:00 am to start a boat exploration and fish the most famous one in the Amazon: the piranha. Have a unique picnic breakfast in the boat. Back in the Amazon Star, have lunch and participate in a cooking class. The next exploration by boat will take you to the Supay stream, which you can also explore by kayak.
Day 5 | Wednesday - City of Nauta/Pawachiro Stream (B,L,D)
During the morning visit the city of Nauta and discover its main attractions as well as the local market. After the visit, return to have lunch. In the afternoon, explore the Pawachiro stream by boat delighting yourself by the variety of flora of the place. Upon your return, dinner will be served.Day 6 | Thursday – Pucate River/ Nauta Caño Stream (B,L,D)
In the morning, enjoy a complete experience taking breakfast in a picnic on the boat by the Pucate River. The excursion begins with a boat exploration. Then, you can enter the river to swim with pink dolphins. Return to the boat for lunch.In the afternoon, explore the Nauta Caño, with the option of travelling the stream in a kayak. After dinner, you will leave on a night excursion.
Day 7 |Friday - Puerto Prado Village (B,L,D)
In the morning, go on a walking tour to see the Victoria Regias and visit the local shaman who will perform a ritual to charge you with good energy. Return to the boat for lunch outdoors and have a cooking class to learn more about the local gastronomy. The last boat ride departs during the afternoon, to enjoy thel sunset. Back in the cruise, you will have a farewell dinner.
DAY 8 | Saturday – Disembarkation (B)
Wake up early in the morning. Disembark in Nauta by 6:00 am.
