Half Day Dolmabahçe Palace Tour: Dolmabahce Palace, Royal Garden Of Dolmabahce, Bezm-i Alem Valide Sultan Mosque

Dolmabahce Palace-Situated on the Europian shores of the Bosphorus, built between 1843-1856. The palace served as the main administrative center of the Ottoman Empire from 1856 to 1887 and 1909 to 1922. It also witnessed some of the key events in Turkey’s recent political history. In 1877, the First Parliament convended in the Grand hall. Ataturk died in the room number 71.

Bezm-i Alem Valide Sultan Mosque-Located next to Dolmabahce palace. The mosque was built for the Bezm-i Alem Valide Sultan, the mother of Abdulmecid. It is one of the ornamented mosques in Istanbul that was built in neo-classical and imperial style. The interior structural elements of Bezm-i Alem Valide Sultan Mosque include Baroque and Ampere styles, which reflect the architectural design of that era. Additionally, the circular window design inside of the mosque is a demonstration of the mosque’s bizarre décor such a design can rarely be seen in mosques and other civil architectures in that era.
