Arrive in Arycanda

we will visit the magnificent ancient city of Arycanda,

located at 8000 meters above the sea-level, surrounded

by beautiful pine forests and great view of the

Arycandos Valley. Although Arycanda seems to be hidden

among forests, it had a very important role in controlling

the traffic passing the Taurus Mountains. The city is located

on a slope covered with pine trees with a backdrop of a huge

rock from where it got its original Luwian name: Arykawanda

– the place next to the high rock. Here we will see a

wonderfully preserved Lycian city with its stadium,

agora, theater, bath and tombs.
