Sapanca Lake and Masukiye Tour

About this activity
You will be taking countryside tour from istanbul for a whole day. Going there and being around the beauty of nature, you will realise how coming to this tour was the best decision. From exploring a scenic lake to visiting local zoo, roaming around the village of Masukiye, going hiking on a mountain, to having a perfect lunch, what else one want? Hotel tranfers are also included in the tour.
Your coach will collect you from your central Istanbul hotels around 8:30am. You will be on the ride for for an hour or so to reach Darica Zoo. This conservation center is home to around 200 different species of animals, hundreds of different types of plants, an aquarium, and a petting zoo. Roam around this center and explore the wilde life. After taking a clear look at the place and exploring it, next you'll drive an hour to Sapanca Lake, where you can enjoy a relaxing stroll along its scenic shores and while you are there, try to capture the moment. Admire the number of villages and mountains being reflected in its fresh waters.
Further go on and explore the pretty lakeside village of Masukiye, where you'll be served a traditional Turkish lunch under a canopy of trees beside a waterfall. Enjoy the taste of Turkish meal. After viewing the waterfall up close, drive up to Mount Kartepe, which is a ski resort in winter time, for people to enjoy stunning views across Lake Sapanca. It’s also up to you if you can want to ride the chair-lift to the peak of the mountain which will have additional charge. You'll get back on the coach around 6pm to return to Istanbul, and you will be arriving back at your hotel around 8:30pm.

Over all it was a good trip but the duration was too long. Too many stops for unnecessary shopping due to collaboration of guides with the local shops. Masukiye had nothing much to offer other than a quick ATV ride which had not enough time and a poor zipline. Everything was behind schedule and the guide could not control people well. The Sapanca lake is an excellent place and it was given only 1 hour in a 14 hour trip over all. It was not enough for such a beautiful place. I guess more focus of guide was on commercial activity and attached benefits. The tour operator must look into this matter and instruct guides to focus on the tour itself. There was a zoo stop as well which was not mentioned in initial program and we had to pay for it as well on the spot.
