Built in 1573 under the reign of Akbar, Agra Fort is a magnificent structure made in the heart of the city. Built by 4000 workers in 8 years, is was the residence of the great Mughal emperor, Akbar. The fort perfectly reflects the Mughal architecture, culture, and beliefs.

The mosque is located inside the Agra Fort and was built by the creator of the Taj Mahal. “Moti” means “Pearl”, and the mosque is called Moti Masjid because of the white marbles that make it look like it is made of pearls.

Jama Masjid, also called the Friday Mosque is one of the largest mosque in India. Constructed of red sandstone with intricate white marble decorations, like many other monuments in Agra, this grand pilgrimage spot is also built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan.

Built in 1613, the Tomb of Akbar is an important Mughal architectural masterpiece. Akbar planned the tomb and selected a suitable site for it. Akbar’s son, Jahangir finished the construction of this structure in memories of his father after his death.

Stop At: Chini Ka Rauza, Near Itmad-Ud-Daulah Tomb On Banks Of Yamuna River, Agra India

Chini ka Rauza is a funerary monument which is home to the tomb of Allama Afzal Khan Mullah, a scholar, and poet who was the Prime Minister of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. The structure perfectly reflects Mughal architecture.

Stop At: Itmad-ud-Daula, Moti Bagh, Agra, Uttar Pradesh 282006, India

Nicknamed “Baby Taj”, this structure is the precursor of the Taj Mahal. The Itimad-ud-Daula’s Tomb is situated on the left bank of river Jamuna next to Chini-ka-Rauza. Itimad-ud-Daula was the title given to Mirza Ghiyath Beg, father of Nur Jahan.

Ivory-white marble structure on the south bank of the Yamuna river and one of the seven wonders in the world, Taj Mahal is a symbol of love. Built by Shah Jahan in 1632 for his wife Mumtaz, the structure looks magnificent in white. Taj Mahal has the tomb of Mumtaz.
