Learn to Cook Authentic Rajasthani Dishes in a Jaipur Home
When you arrive at Ranjana's home you will be greeted with a refreshing welcome drink and a snack that you can enjoy as you get to know each other in their comfortable living room.
When it's time to stat cooking you will join Ranjana and her staff in her kitchen and learn to cook a North Indian meal. You might learn to make paneer makhni (Indian cheese in a butter tomato sauce), kadhai chicken (stir fried chicken and vegetables in a kadhai, an Indian wok) and rotis (Indian bread) before sharing your meal with her joyous family at their dining table.
Your meal will include the dishes you helped prepare as well as other foods that may have been prepared in advance, such as dahi wada (plump dumplings in creamy yoghurt), Punjabi chole (chickpeas in a rich onion gravy), aloo capsicum (fat potatoes with diced bell peppers), or lal maas (a Rajasthani tender slow-cooked mutton). The main dishes will be accompanied by fresh Indian breads.
Note that Ranjana runs a homestay out of her house so while other guests might be present during your visit, your cooking lesson and meal will be private.
In addition, please note, this experience is not a professional cooking class or tour, rather it is meant to be a visit into an authentic, local home to meet a local person and share the culture and cuisine together.
