About this activity
In the morning, you will be escorted from your hotel in a private air conditioned vehicle for full day sightseeing tour of Bikaner. Visit the famous Karni Mata Temple, also known as the Temple of Rats. Situated at Deshnoke, the famous temple was built in honor of Mata Karni and famous for thousands of black rats living there. According to legends, Karni Mata’s stepson drowned in a pool, while attempting to drink water from it. Karni Mata prayed to the god of death Yama, who permitted all of Karni Mata’s male children to be reincarnated as rats.
Afterwards, you will be driven towards Junagarh Fort, a magnificent structure built in 1588 AD by Raja Rai Singh. The fort complex comprises a plethora of palaces, built by different rulers who ruled over the centuries. Moreover, the precincts are adorned with temples and pavilions, each of which depict the composite culture perfectly manifested in the architecture styles. Then, get ready for a heritage walk tour at the Lalgarh Palace, an exemplar in itself with all the charm and splendor of the royal age. Get to know about the history of the Palace, part of which is also converted into a heritage hotel to accommodate visitors looking forward to treat themselves to a royal style accommodation.
As the tour comes to end, you will then visit the National Research Center on Camels. An illustrious point of interest in Bikaner, the center introduces tourists to the various breeds of camels and their habitat. The center is also home to a camel museum, dedicated to the “Sheep of the Desert”. You can also find an ice cream parlor within the center that sells value added camel milk products like ice-cream and hot & cold beverages.
After the completion of the tour, you will be dropped back at your hotel.
