Private Full-Day Tour of Amber Fort and Royal Gaitor Including a Hike to Galtaji Temple

Your tour begins with a pickup from your hotel in Jaipur at 9:30am. Your accompanying guide will introduce to the gems of Jaipur in your chauffeur driven vehicle.

Your tour starts with a visit to the Galtaji Temple. Galta Ji is a large Hindu temple complex that lies 10 km to the east of Jaipur. The temple is situated at the bottom of the hills in a lush landscape of trees and bushes. Hike to the Galta Kund which is a holy water tank that never dries. The temple is home to a colony of monkeys.

Continue on and drive to the ancient capital of Amber to see the fabulous Amber Fort, situated on a ridge just outside Jaipur city. Maharaja Mansingh, Mughal Emperor Akbar’s most successful General, started the construction of Amber Fort in the 17th century. Before the City Palace was constructed in Jaipur, Amber was the seat of power. The fort is surrounded by fortified battlements and overlooks the Moat Lake. Ascend the fort in jeeps arriving at the main gate.

You will continue with a visit to Gaitor, a garden of royal cenotaphs, just outside the city walls, beneath Nahargarh. It is a serene site that has been remarkably undiscovered. The stone monuments are beautifully and intricately carved.

Later you will visit the Sisodia Rani ka Bagh, a garden built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, as a gift to his Sisodia Queen from Udaipur. Here, the queen would spend time in the lap of nature, away from the politics of the royal palace.

Later in the afternoon, you will visit the Birla Mandir, built in pure white marble; it dominates the skyline of southern part of Jaipur. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Narayan), the preserver and his consort Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth and is also known as Lakshmi Narayan Temple.

After your full-day tour, you will be dropped back off to your city hotel.
