Day 1: Bogor City Tour, Jakarta pick up & Bogor Hotel drop off

Stop At: Bogor Botanical Gardens, Jl. Ir H Juanda no. 13, Bogor 16122 Indonesia
Founded in 1817 by the order of the government of the Dutch East Indies, the Garden thrived under the leadership of many renowned botanists including Johannes Elias Teijsmann, Rudolph Herman Christiaan Carel Scheffer, and Melchior Treub. Since its foundation, Bogor Botanical garden has served as a major research center for agriculture and horticulture. It is the oldest botanical garden in Southeast Asia

The Garden is roughly square shaped covering an area of 87 hectares (210 acres), with additional 28.4 hectares (70 acres) of the ground in the north-west being the palace garden. The Garden is divided by the Ciliwung river and has three bridges. The main gate is located in the south and is where most of the garden facilities are concentrated, such as ticket purchasing booth, Treub's laboratory, Nusa Indah Guesthouse, plant/souvenir shops, the library and the conservation building. The precinct east of Ciliwung was laid out in 1927 with facilities as the mosque, cafes, Herbarium, orchid section and Wisma Tamu guesthouse, near Astrid's avenue.

Today the garden contains 13,983 specimens of trees and plants, belonging to 3373 species, 1257 genera and 218 families.[18] There are 288 species (88 genera) of exceptional palms along lawns and avenues.The Gardens are a refuge for more than 50 different varieties of birds and for groups of bats roosting high in the trees

The Bogor Palace (Indonesian:Istana Bogor, Dutch:Het Paleis te Buitenzorg) is one of 6 Presidential Palaces of Indonesia, it is located in the city of Bogor, West Java.

The palace is noted for its distinctive architectural and historical features, as well as the adjoining botanical gardens. Istana Bogor was opened to the public in 1968 to public tour groups (not individuals), with the permission of the acting President of Indonesia, Suharto. The gardens of the palace covers an area of 284,000 square metres (28.4 hectares).

Batik is a technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to whole cloth, or cloth made using this technique, originated from Indonesia, Batik is made either by drawing dots and lines of the resist with a spouted tool called a tjanting or by printing the resist with a copper stamp called a cap.

The applied wax resists dyes and therefore allows the artisan to colour selectively by soaking the cloth in one colour, removing the wax with boiling water, and repeating if multiple colours are desired.

A tradition of making batik is found in various countries; the batik of Indonesia, however, may be the best-known. Indonesian batik made in the island of Java has a long history of acculturation, with diverse patterns influenced by a variety of cultures, and is the most developed in terms of pattern, technique, and the quality of workmanship.

In October 2009, UNESCO designated Indonesian batik as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

Day 2: Bogor Nature Tour

Stop At: Nangka Waterfall, Tenjolaya Desa Warung Loa Kec Taman Sari, Bogor Indonesia
("Curug" is Javanese language that has meaning of "waterfall"). Although it is not too large, this waterfall remains a tourist attraction worth visiting because it offers natural atmosphere fresh and beautiful. Curug Nangka is surrounded of pine forest, so the air around it tasted very fresh. The location of this waterfall is at the foot of Mount Salak, precisely in Sukajadi village, Tamansari Sub-district, Bogor regency.

Curug Nangka is in an ecotourism that has developed into one of the nuanced nature of alternative tourism in Bogor. In the area of ​​ecotourism, we can do something interesting, for example trying attractions of flying fox.

Meanwhile, to get the location of the waterfall, we had been trekking for a few minutes past to the footpath between the pine forest. But, you must be careful when you trek to this waterfall path, because you may be meet with wild monkeys as they walk down to the location of the waterfall.

This Hindu temple believed to be the most sacred of Hindu temple outside Bali

The temple development was started in 1995. It took 10 years from the first stone laid until the completion.

It was and is intended to accommodate the needs of Hinduism for a place to worship and do rituals of their belief.

The place where it stands is actually the foot of Mount Salak, the Silver mountain. If it is measured , the structure is around 1,100 M from sea level.

This is one thing that makes the situation different from temples in Bali. If in the Island, you will feel hot and humid but here, the temperature is cool as mountain climate should be.
