The Baduy Tribes live in about 5100 Ha, on Mount Kendeng, at Kanekes Village, Leuwidamar, Lebak Regency, Banten Provence. The Baduy are a hill tribe community who refuse all external influence. The practice a strictly peaceful, isolated, traditional style if living in tune with their natural surroundings. They have not accepted modern culture and technology. Their community is classified in terms of Baduy dalam (inner Baduy) and Baduy Luar (outer Baduy). About 400 people of Baduy dalam live in the three village which are completely surrounded by a protective zone of Baduy luar. Each village of Baduy is headed by puun”Baduy” – this is a society without a social gap. They are no poor or rich, all people are poor and rich The life of Baduy is the natural life.

THE ADVENTURE OF OUTER BADUY TRIBE

We take a scenic drive to Ciboleger the entrance gate to the Baduy community. From here we will continue to walk to Gajeboh village. On the way you will observe the local ladies who are busy weaving their traditional cloth. We will also see rice barns, hilly rice fields, sugar palm trees and others. Upon arrival at Gajeboh we will take a walk to see the activities of the Baduy people, as far as the Bamboo bridge. After lunch we will return to Ciboleger to take transport back to Jakarta.
