Same Day Agra Tour By Train

You will be picked up in the morning at 7:00am from your hotel or the airport in New Delhi. Then, you will be driven to the Nizamuddin Railway Station, where you will board the train to Agra. Journey to Agra on India's newest train the Gatiman Express, a high-speed train covering 116.6m (188km) in approximately 80 minutes. Board the train in Delhi at 8:10am. You will be served breakfast by one of the Gatiman Express stewards. Sit back and relax as you enjoy your breakfast and view from the extra large windows. Arrive in Agra at 9:40 am, where your driver is waiting. Head directly to the Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and visit the Taj Mahal, a mausoleum built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.

 

Marvel at its beautiful architecture, combining elements of Indian, Turkish, Persian, and Muslim architectural styles. The intricate landscape and reflecting pools serve to highlight the beautiful white marble that is the Taj Mahal's signature. Enjoy an interior visit included on this tour. You will have an opportunity to view the geometrical design of the black and white marble floors, the arched doorways and alcoves, the delicate attention to detail, and its opulence. Following your Taj Mahal tour, you will go to the Agra Fort.

Admire this sandstone fortress with its many palaces and mosques. You will feel as if you are stepping back into history within this walled palatial city. 

Enjoy some free time after your visit to the Agra Fort. Spend your time to enjoy lunch (own expense) and walk around. Your driver will pick you up at 5:50pm and return you to the train station. Board the Gatiman Express for a comfortable ride back to Delhi. Once you arrive at Delhi's Nizamuddin Railway Station, a driver will be waiting to take you back to your hotel or the airport.
