About this activity
Leave your hotel to start your full day tour to Jerusalem and Bethlehem. The first stop is at Mount of Olives, named after the olive groves that covered it once. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the old and new city of Jerusalem, the Temple Mount and the Dome of the Rock.

Next, head to Mount Zion to visit the Tomb of King David and the Room of Last Supper located near the Dormition Abbey. This Abbey was built by the Bishop of Jerusalem in the fifth century and known for it's impressive Architecture.

Following the program, you head to the old city to and walk through the Armenian and Jewish quarters to soak-up some of the different cultures of the city. Walk through the Cardo, the ancient Roman road, view the Western Wall and continue to the Christian quarter. Then walk through the Via Dolorosa, and visit the church of Holy Sepulchre, which is a major Christian pilgrimage site since its creation in the fourth century.

Leave Jerusalem and drive to Bethlehem. Cross the border (on own) and join your local guide for an overview of the Shepherds' field, where the star of nativity was said to appear. Visit manger's square and enter one of the oldest churches in the world, the Church of Nativity. Cross back to meet your Israeli guide who will escort you back to your point of departure.

Very knowledgeable guide but he was also the driver, which made it hard to engage. Lunch was mediocre. You are herded into restaurant with poor service.

1) Would have been better if our guide on Jerusalem part of tour wouldn't have gotten into political back and forth with one of the participants on tour. He was trying to prove his side of argument instead of educating about issues. Also, he was walking through Old City so fast that some couldnt catch up. He started talking about the different sites before others caught up to him.2) More time was scheduled at gift shop in Bethlehem than at the Basillica of the Nativity. The tour guide on this leg of tour was better except for long time scheduled at gift shop.

Deceptive practices. The tour in Jerusalem was good. The tour in Bethlehem left something to be desired. The first thing is that the tour said it included the Shepard's Fields. Apparently what that meant was looking at them from about a 10 mile distance. Okay. Next they took us to a souvenir shop where the tour guide gets a percentage of the sales from our group. The owner of the shop is deceptive, and told me the price in Shekels, but charged me that amount in dollars. Apparently after googling, that is a common practice at that shop. I would choose a different tour group.

Small group size was great. Rami our guide was extremely informative and kept our group together and moving. Long wait in Bethlehem was worth it, crossing went smoothly. We never would have been able to experience all we did in one day without a guide.

The tour guide from Real Guide Tours was amazing! His name was Hilik Levite and everyone should ask for him!
