About this activity
After Tel-Aviv hotel pick ups, our small group tour departs to Jerusalem, the holiest city in the world. The first stop is Mount of Olives, where you will enjoy a panoramic view of the city.

We then proceed to Mount Zion, home to the room of the Last Supper, which commemorates Jesus last supper with his disciples;

the Dormition Abbey, a marvelous church marking the site where Virgin Mary is said to have died and arrive to visit King David's tomb.

We enter the Old City to discover it's different quarters. We walk through the Armenian and Jewish quarters , through the Cardo, the recently excavated Roman road to the Wailing Wall (Kotel). We then continue to the Christian quarter where we walk through the Via Dolorosa, the “Way of Sorrows” to visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Passing by the local oriental bazaar market, we head towards the vehicle; we drive to the New City where we stop for a visit at Yad Vashem, Israel’s memorial to the Holocaust.

Note: Yad Vashem is closed on Saturdays and Jewish holidays. On these days we substitute a visit to the Holocaust memorial with a visit to the picturesque neighborhood of Ein Karem, traditionally known as birthplace of John the Baptist ; We stop by Mary's spring and continue to visit the impressive Church of John the Baptist before returning to the point of departure .

Pickup at 0700 was a bit strange as we were dumped at a park 0730 and told to wait with no instructions. Once all the tour buses arrived 0815ish we were told how it all worked, were directed to the correct bus and continued to Jerusalem. We detoured twice to pick up additional guests and started the tour at 10am from the Jaffa gate. the tour guide was very knowledgeable and we sped through the city. It would have been nice to spend a bit more time at a few places, but it was also very hot and spending time at the Western Wall any more than we did would have been rough. The Holocaust museum was very moving and though we were thoroughly spent from walking Jerusalem was a nice end to the day.

This is a very good overview tour of Jerusalem especially for a first time visitor. Jerusalem might surprise you with how compact and multi leveled it is. Lots of up and down, very easy to make many important stops in a relatively small area. If you have a good guide like Paul you'll also get great context and background on the city and its rich history.

Ofir was the most amazing tour guide ever! Very patient, spoke perfect english and spanish, he made sure everyone's questions were answered and that our curiosities were met. We visited a holy place and he took the time to explain everything in extreme detail but did it in a way to where everyone could appreciate the significance of where we were. He gave us time to explore and to do what we came there to do. It was a great experience and I recommend everyone to take this guide! I even booked more just because of this experience. Julia

Great tour guide. I went on another touristisrael tour and their tour guide and process was terrible. Viator does a nice job and was extremely professional.

This was a great way to see Jerusalem as well as get transportation both ways from Tel Aviv. Mt. Olive was a spectacular first stop to view the city, and inside the city was amazing. Note however be that if you're a religious person I would think you'd enjoy this tour more than a non-religious person. It was heavy on the 'footsteps of Jesus' and 'stations' thing. I can and did enjoy the historical value of these things, but zoned out a bit when the religious droning got a bit heavy. The city stop at Ein Karem seemed pointless.
