About this activity
Itinerary
This workshop takes place on August 3rd from 9am to 12:30pm.
In this workshop you will learn the most commonly used stitches to get you started in crochet. Deanne Ramsay from Addydae Designs will show you the basics of working crochet in rows, starting with the simplest stitch and progressing to more challenging stitches as your confidence grows.
You will learn:
• How to chain (you can’t hook before you can chain!)
• Basic crochet stitch anatomy
• My favourite method for working into a starting chain
• The difference between US and UK terminology
• How to secure your work (fasten) and join a new colour (for striping)
• How to weave in ends
By the end of the class you will have a stitch-sampler square that can be used in a patchwork blanket, duplicated and sewn together to create a hotpad, or continued to create a rectangular scarf. I will also provide lots of class notes with links to help you to continue your crochet fun long after the class is over.
This workshop will take place in the beautiful Sun Room at the Bay & Bush Cottages complete with beautiful natural light in a bush setting and roaring fireplace!
