Royal Jodhpur - A Heritage Walking Tour with private transfers

You will be picked up from your hotel in Jodhpur and brought to the starting point for your Heritage Walk. Your walk will take you to historical monuments & sites. Jodhpur is the second largest city in the state of Rajasthan. This city has a few nicknames: “Gateway to Thar” as it is on the edge of the Thar Desert, “Sun City” as the sun shines very bright and hot almost every day of the year, and “Blue City” as most houses in the old city are shades of blue.

Your heritage walking tour will start at the Chandpole Gate. During your tour, your guide will share interesting legends from Jodhpur’s past. Meet and interact with the locals, wander through narrow alleyways dotted with indigo colored houses.

We will visit the historic Krishna Temple, named Kunj Bihari Temple. This temple is artistically and architecturally beautiful, in particular the entrance. There is a statue of Meera Bai, a great devotee of Lord Krishna at the entrance of the temple. You will have the chance to meet the priest’s family.

Jodhpur has more than 100 stepwells, some hidden away in its many narrow alleys. Our walk will take you to one of the most well known, Toor Ji Ka Jhalr. Built in the 1740s, this historic structure was only recently excavated and restored. It has clean lines and clear, fish-filled water.

Moving through the local market with its colorful atmosphere will allow you to sample some local sweets of Jodhpur.

Your walking tour will end at the Ghanta Ghar Clock Tower, which was constructed by the Late Shri Sardar Singh Ji of Jodhpur. It overlooks Sardar Market and it’s over a hundred years old. It is a city landmark in the midst of the vibrant sounds, sights and smells of Sardar Market.

At the end of your tour, you will be brought back to your hotel in Jodhpur.
