- Pick up time is 8:00am from your hotel in an air-conditioned minivan. Your guide for the duration of the tour will meet you in the reception area with a beaming smile and a warm embracing greeting.
- We then take the 45 minute drive through to the Glen Afric private reserve which is situated close to the town of Broederstroom. Upon arrival, we have about 45 minutes to unwind with a light refreshment and muffin. A perfect time to just unwind and take in the energy of the African bush.
- At 9:50am we meet the ranger and embark on a 1 hour interaction tour with the elephants. The elephants are roaming freely in the bush so our first mission is to find them on the landrover. Once we have found them we spend an hour walking with the elephants, This is the only tour where your tour guide is an elephant. How cool is that? We follow the elephants and being nearly 5 tons we are not going to argue with them. We get to observe them in their natural environment as they crash down trees and spend most of the time eating. They do not perform tricks or are made to stand on 1 leg for our entertainment. They are free roaming. The Walking distance is only about 1km and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. And yes, it is safe. The tour concludes at about 11:00am
- We then take the 15 minute drive through to the Lesedi Cultural village
- At 11:30am you start your tour of the village. The Zulu warrior guide will spend the first 1.5 hours walking you through the village where you will learn about the 5 main tribes that make up South Africa. Try your hand at spear throwing or eat the Mopani worms and we might throw in a beer for your bravery.
- From 1:00pm to 1:30pm you will be taken to the main arena for a mind-blowing traditional drumming and dancing session. Feel free to join if you feel you have the rhythm in you.
- Lunch is served from 1:30pm to 2:30pm. The lunch is traditional South African food served buffet style. (traditional includes a lot of meat, crocodile, lamb, spinach, vegetables. And of course there is a selection of Western food as well)
- At 2:30pm we take the 5 minute drive to the Lion Park. We will spend 2 hours exploring the park and includes a drive into the lion encampment and a chance to play with the lion cubs.
- at 4:30pm we depart for the 45 minute drive back to your hotel. We should have you back by about 5:30pm
