About this activity
If you select hotel pickup, you’ll kick off your Alaskan experience with an informative and entertaining van ride from your Juneau hotel to the heliport to begin your amazing helicopter tour. Board a state-of-the-art helicopter and savor the excitement as you take to the skies!

Fly over the amazing rock formations and icefalls of the Juneau Icefield as you head toward Herbert Glacier, Taku Glacier, Lemon Glacier or Norris Glacier. Your helicopter flight will be narrated by your knowledgeable pilot so you can relax and soak in your natural surroundings. Your pilot will act as your guide for your entire tour, including the time you'll spend on your walkabout on the glacier.

When you land on the glacier, you’ll be escorted on a walk along the icefield nestled among mountain peaks that are blanketed in ice and show. Learn about the area that surrounds you and feel free to ask any questions you have about Alaska’s natural history, geology, meteorology and more. Be sure to dress warmly, as it can be quite cold on the glacier.

After your time on the glacier, savor more aerial views on your helicopter flight back to Juneau. Upon landing you’ll have the opportunity for final photos and time to warm up before enjoying a return van trip back to your hotel.

This is my favorite excursion that I have ever done. The Staff and the pilot are very organized, professional and friendly. I enjoy it so much that this was my second time in two years. I took a friend of mine who has never done this before and she was in awe of the entire experience.

This was a very fun experience, but a little short for the cost. The flight was less than 10 minutes in each direction, and we spent maybe 20-25 minutes on the glacier. The views were awesome and our pilot (Josh) was great! The logistics of the operation were seamless, and all of the staff was very friendly and helpful!

This was the best excursion we ever took. Mitch was a great tour guide/helicopter pilot. The weather was fantastic the views were perfect. This was a once in a lifetime event. It was amazing landing on the glacier. Bring a collapsible cup with you so you can drink the clear, cold water from the glacier. Highly recommend this tour.

Oh my gosh! Words cannot properly describe the view from the helicopter or the feeling of setting foot on a glacier ice field. This trip was unbelievable! You MUST do this!

Coastal Helicopters was very well organized. They met us outside the cruise ship, picked us up in a small passenger van. At their HQ at the Juneau airport, they fitted us all with boots suitable to walk on ice and had us watch a safety video. The helicopter ride was smooth and the view is beautiful. On the glacier, you have 20 minutes to walk around but they will keep an eye on you to make sure you don't wander far and heaven forbid fall into a crevasse. Highly recommend you bring nice cameras along with something to catch the freezing cold, pure glacier water to drink. Also highly recommend using Travel Guard or some other insurance agency to insure this trip, since there are no refunds. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience if you live in the desert, as we do!

Breathtaking! This tour opened my eyes to the true beauty of glaciers, and I am so glad my friend convinced me to go. We drank ancient water trickling down the glaciers surface and tried to capture the magic of the moment with panning photos and videos. I had never ridden in a helicopter, and that was exciting too, but the glacier itself stole the show. We also witnessed bighorn sheep on the mountainside nearby.
